About Me

I'm Dolce Park, the founder and lead analyst at Crypto Money Basics. I hold a B.S. in Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley, I am a CFA Level II candidate, and I earned my Certified Blockchain Professional (CBP) credential in 2020. Over the past 8 years working in financial technology and blockchain security, I have analyzed over 500 cryptocurrency scam cases, reviewed the security practices of 50+ exchanges, and tracked regulatory developments across 30+ jurisdictions.

I created this platform to deliver rigorous, evidence-based cryptocurrency education rooted in real financial analysis — not hype, affiliate marketing, or misleading promises. Every piece of content here reflects the same analytical rigor I apply to professional research.

Background & Credentials

  • Tracked and documented regulatory developments across 30+ global jurisdictions
  • Active contributor to open-source blockchain education and security audit tools
  • Speaker and panelist at fintech conferences including Consensus and Blockchain Expo

Why I Created This Site

The idea for Crypto Money Basics came from watching people I care about lose real money to scams and bad decisions. Friends who were smart, capable people got caught up in hype cycles, meme coin frenzies, and outright fraud — not because they were careless, but because the information they could find online was designed to sell, not to educate.

I kept seeing the same pattern: influencers pushing tokens they were paid to promote, "beginner guides" that glossed over risks entirely, and communities where questioning the narrative made you an outsider. There was a massive gap between the hype-driven content flooding social media and the honest, grounded education that people actually needed before putting their money on the line.

That gap is what this site exists to fill. Every article I publish follows a risk-first philosophy. Before I explain how something works, I explain what can go wrong. Before I walk through a process, I outline what you stand to lose. I believe that the best financial decisions start with understanding the downside — not chasing the upside. If even one reader avoids a costly mistake because of something they read here, this project is worth it.

Research Methodology

Every article on Crypto Money Basics is built on a structured research methodology developed over 8 years of professional analysis in the blockchain and fintech space:

  • Primary source analysis — I work directly from protocol whitepapers, on-chain data, smart contract audits, and official regulatory filings rather than relying on secondary reporting.
  • Quantitative verification — Claims about fees, returns, and risks are validated using real market data from sources such as CoinGecko, Chainalysis reports, and SEC EDGAR filings.
  • Scam pattern database — I maintain an internal database of 500+ documented scam cases, categorized by type (rug pull, phishing, Ponzi, social engineering), which informs the risk warnings throughout the site.
  • Regulatory cross-referencing — Legal and tax information is cross-referenced against official publications from the SEC, IRS, FinCEN, and equivalent bodies in 30+ jurisdictions.
  • Hands-on testing — Where possible, I personally test wallets, exchanges, and DeFi protocols to provide firsthand assessments of user experience and security practices.

Editorial Process

Every piece of content on Crypto Money Basics goes through a structured editorial process to ensure accuracy and trustworthiness:

1

Official Source Research

All claims are grounded in official sources — SEC filings, IRS publications, exchange documentation, and protocol whitepapers. No rumors, no speculation.

2

Multi-Source Fact-Checking

Key facts and figures are cross-referenced against multiple independent sources before publication. If something can't be verified, it doesn't get published.

3

Regular Reviews & Updates

Published articles are periodically reviewed and updated to reflect regulatory changes, market developments, and new information. Outdated content is flagged or revised.

4

Reader Feedback

Reader corrections, questions, and suggestions are taken seriously and incorporated into content improvements. Transparency with readers is a core value.

Editorial Standards

All content on this site follows strict editorial guidelines:

  • No affiliate links — we earn nothing from product recommendations
  • No sponsored content — every article is independently written
  • No investment advice — we explain concepts, not predict markets
  • Transparent sourcing — we cite our references and update content regularly
